What is this?
Have you ever wanted to know between AIM users which is more popular? Which is cooler? Which has more buddies?
Now you can finally answer those questions, and more!
Using a complex algorithm, created by 1000 monkeys, with a little bit of golden goodness thrown in, AIM Fight determines a score for each person.
At the heart of the score is the current number of people online that have the battle participants buddy listed, out to three degrees.
This means the score is constantly changing, and the winner of the battle will constantly change with it.
How does it work?
Very carefully!
How can I increase my score?
You can't! You need to get people to add you to their Buddy List, and have more people add those people to their Buddy Lists, and have even more people add those people to their Buddy Lists. Your Buddy List doesn't matter in the score.
How come I no longer win?
Each person's score is constantly changing; it is a living, breathing thing.
As a person's three-degree network signs in and out of AIM, their score will change with it.
What does AIM Ranked mean?
The user is in approximately the top 5% of all online AIM users, as far as this score is concerned. If the user is currently offline, then we find where the user would rank if they were online.
Why don't bots work?
Bots are special, and they are excluded from this.
What does the actual score mean?
Not much. :)
Who made it?
Two internal AIM folks who wanted to see something cool. We owe parts the idea to the Google Fights and Google Wars of the world. There will probably be a real, polished version soon. :-)
